Sabah snake grass can be easily propagated from stem cuttings and thrives in well- drained, compost rich soil. It prefers plenty of shade and can grow up to a height of 2.5m (8ft) Recently, Sabah snake grass has received plenty of press as a miracle cure for cancer. Patients in various stages of the disease have either eaten the leaves raw or blended it with apples to drink, with positive results.
In Thailand, the leaves have traditionally been used as an anti- inflammatory to treat insect bites, herpes and various allergies. Traditionally Thai doctors also have used this herbs to treat snake bites! Sabah snake grass is also thought to be good for lowering cholesterol, lowering high blood pressure, detoxifying the body and kidneys.
